Connects via USB 3.2 Gen 1 (USB 3.0)—bus-powered, so no external power brick is needed. 
Formatted in exFAT out of the box, making it plug-and-play compatible with both Windows (7 and above) and macOS (10.12+). Reformatting may be needed for Time Machine backups.

Offers 2 TB of storage for files, media, documents, and backups.
Estimated data transfer speeds around up to 120 MB/s, depending on the interface and device. 
Security & Software
Supports AES‑256 hardware encryption and password protection on select versions (“With Password”).
